L'Arabie saoudite adopte le calendrier "occidental"

Dimanche, l’Arabie saoudite a adopté le calendrier grégorien ou  »occidental », après avoir utilisé le calendrier islamique lunaire depuis sa création, en 1932, a annoncé la chaîne de télévision locale Al Arabiya.
La décision concerne principalement les services gouvernementaux, dont les employés percevront des salaires légèrement inférieurs puisque l’année du calendrier islamique compte environ quinze jours de moins que celle du calendrier grégorien.
